This tool is used to create spiraling designs on all types of turned projects, both spindle and bowl. Three round spiral cutters are provided, fine, medium and coarse, depending upon the number of teeth on the round cutter (36, 20, and 14 resp.). The diameter of the cutter is 7/8". The angle between the cutting wheel and the work is easily adjusted by two allen screws on the "cradle" on the shank. The pattern produces by the spiraling cutter depends upon this angle and the number of teeth on the cutter used. The anodized golden yellow modular handle (6" x 1") holds the spiraling system securely by means of two allen screw. The total length of the assembly is a 9 1/2" with a little practice (use a tight grain wood such as cherry) you will be cutting spirals like a pro! |
